Marchetto Higgins Stieve Architects has announced two promotions, including the appointment of a new partner.

The Hoboken-based firm said Friday that Michael Buldo, who spearheads its construction document team, has been elevated to principal. Meantime, the company has named Brian Ziff its new BIM director.
In a news release, MHS Architects said Buldo has been instrumental over the past 20 years, leading multiple teams and building relationships with both clients and consultants. The firm added that Buldo, an expert in building codes and all construction typologies, delivers well-coordinated projects and makes sure stringent timelines are met.
“He ensures high standards with a focus on quality materials, expert installation and state-of-the-art construction techniques,” the firm said in its announcement. “Buldo focuses and thrives on meticulous attention to detail elevating construction documents to a high level of completeness and coordination with consultants.
“The result is found in high-quality, sustainable, multifamily buildings that MHS Architects is known for.”

As BIM Director, Ziff will plan, manage and orchestrate the implementation and application of Building Information Modeling in its design and documentation processes, the news release said. He will also train, supervise and mentor users on BIM processes, workflows and best practices in order to help ensure and maintain consistency and quality while increasing productivity and efficiency.
“Ziff has successfully developed and now maintains our office’s BIM template and extensive library, as well as our office’s detailed and comprehensive BIM Project Manual and Implementation Plan,” MHS Architects said. “In a strategic effort to deploy BIM effectively and efficiently office-wide, Ziff has the enthusiasm and expertise to succeed.”
