NAI DiLeo-Bram & Co. and the DiLeo Family Foundation will be among this year’s honorees at an upcoming fundraiser hosted by the State Theatre New Jersey in New Brunswick.
According to a news release, the DiLeo family is a longtime supporter of the historic venue through contributions from both the foundation and the Woodbridge-based real estate services firm. That has included everything from helping to fund STNJ’s sensory-friendly programming to participating in its recent transformative capital campaign, as both entities look to advance programming designed to inform and build future audiences.
STNJ will highlight the DiLeo family-related entities on June 8 alongside Middlesex County Administrator John Pulomena, recognizing them as this year’s Corporate and Arts Advocate honorees, respectively, as part of a 1950s-inspired fundraising event at the Livingston Avenue theater.
“Individually and collectively, each has been a strong advocate for State Theatre New Jersey and essential to supporting our mission to enrich the lives of people from diverse backgrounds while contributing to a vital urban environment,” said Sarah Chaplin, STNJ’s CEO and president. “By honoring them, we are celebrating an ongoing commitment to nurture a lifelong association with the arts.”
Built in 1921 and designed by renowned architect Thomas Lamb, the historic State Theatre has been a center of culture and arts since its earliest beginnings as a renovated silent-film palace through the 1960s, NAIDB noted in a news release. The facility became a nonprofit performing arts center and reopened in 1988, serving today as central New Jersey’s largest nonprofit arts venue.
“It has been a pleasure to be a part of and watch STNJ continue to expand its role and reach throughout the state as a prominent leader in the arts,” said Robert DiLeo, co-founder and principal of NAIDB. “The ability of STNJ to present world-class performances and affordable access to all ages and backgrounds is commendable.”
