An event management company is relocating to Lackawanna Center in Jersey City, leasing more than 130,000 square feet at the repurposed railroad warehousing and distribution building.
NAI James E. Hanson, which represented the landlord, announced the lease between This Is It! Productions and Lackawanna Warehouse Corporation of New Jersey II. The business is relocating from Hoboken to the 1.3 million-square-foot facility at 629 Grove St.
Russ Verducci, Eric Demmers and Steve Pastor of NAI Hanson partnered with Lackawanna Center’s in-house representative, Brett Weinblatt, on the transaction. Scott Maynard of Weichert Commercial represented the tenant.
“At NAI Hanson, we have witnessed a great deal of companies looking to relocate from pricier locations, such as Hoboken and Brooklyn, into the Jersey City area,” Verducci said. “This trend is powered by the affordability, location and access to a highly-educated workforce that Jersey City offers to prospective businesses.
“Our experience with this market and deals of this size allowed us to help bring a new business to the city while securing a valuable tenant for our client.”
NAI Hanson said the company had been searching for new space that offered accessibility, flexibility and affordability in order to accommodate its growing full-service event management, marketing and sponsorship business. At Lackawanna Center, it has a location adjacent to the Holland Tunnel with direct access to the New Jersey Turnpike, Routes 1&9, Route 440 and the Pulaski Skyway.
