The longtime treasurer at NAI James E. Hanson is marking her golden anniversary at the company, where she has served under three generations of family ownership.
The real estate services firm announced Tuesday that it was celebrating Joan Hoerauf and her 50th anniversary of joining the business. Originally hired at the James E. Hanson Mortgage Co., she began as a bookkeeper in the company’s apartment management division, leading to a career that the firm called “an exemplary model of professional excellence.”
Hoerauf has been NAI Hanson’s treasurer since 2002 and helps manage cash flow and financial reporting to ensure that its executive team has an up-to-date and accurate picture of the firm’s finances.
“In today’s fast-paced business world, it is becoming increasingly rare for employees to stay at a company for five years let alone five decades, which makes Joan’s achievement even more remarkable,” said William C. Hanson, president of NAI Hanson. “Throughout her career, Joan has been an integral part of the continued growth and success of our company.
“At NAI Hanson, we acknowledge exemplary members of our team with the ‘employee of the year’ award,” he added. “Joan has received this award so many times that it was recently renamed the ‘Joan K. Hoerauf Employee of the Year Award.’
“I would like to applaud Joan for her decades of steadfast dedication and hard work and I look forward to her continued contributions.”
Hoerauf added that NAI Hanson, now based in Teterboro, “has always felt like a part of my extended family.”
“Although my job title and responsibilities have changed over the years, the company has never lost sight of its family-oriented focus which has made it a special place to come to work each day of my career,” she said.
