A new boutique rental building in downtown Rutherford has leased 75 percent of its available apartments just four weeks after opening to the public.
Vango Development, which recently delivered the 52-unit complex at 106 Park Ave., on Monday announced the milestone at what’s known as The Parker. Renters have responded to the building’s amenities, modern design and easy access to NJ Transit’s Rutherford train station just two blocks away.
“We wanted to introduce a new style of living here that would embrace and enhance everything that is appealing about downtown Rutherford,” said Van Golemis, a principal of Vango Development. “Seeing such a positive response from renters is tremendously gratifying.”
In a news release, Vango said the four-story building has attracted renters from the Gold Coast, including Michael Carlino, who has been living in Jersey City for the past three years and is slated to move in to The Parker this week.
“I’ve known for about a year that I was going to move out of Jersey City and was always set on finding a new apartment in Hoboken,” Carlino said. “Then I started looking at what was available and was discouraged to find that they were either exorbitantly priced or simply didn’t offer any value for what you were getting, other than being close to the city.”
That prompted Carlino, a commuter into Manhattan, to visit The Parker and ultimately rent a studio apartment.
The Parker’s available one- and two-bedroom apartments start at $2,295 a month, with immediate occupancy available, Vango said. The developer has leased up much of the building alongside The Marketing Directors, its exclusive marketing and leasing agent.
The Childs Dreyfus Group has designed the on-site amenities and common spaces at The Parker, which include a modern fitness center and a resident lounge/club room with billiards, shuffleboard and large-screen TVs. The pet-friendly, smoke-free community also provides WiFi in common areas, a smart phone and video intercom system and on-site parking and bike storage.
