Metro Storage LLC has opened a new 558-unit facility in Monmouth County, as the operator expands its footprint in New Jersey to nearly a dozen locations.
The company, which is based in Lake Forest, Illinois, said the three-story property spans 81,400 square feet at 2274 Route 34 in Wall Township. That includes 59,245 square feet of climate-controlled self-storage space in a building that also has drive-up access units, large interior drive-in loading and unloading bays with additional access points around the facility, elevator access, modern security and a large, modern retail office.
It is the 10th Metro Self Storage store in the state.
“New Jersey is an exciting market with lots of opportunity through the population density, and this new facility is a valuable addition to our portfolio,” Metro Storage LLC President Martin Gallagher said. “Metro is well established in this market with an operational competitive advantage that enables us to provide our customers with the quality storage experience they expect.”
With its location on Route 34, the new facility figures to serve the beach communities of Belmar, Lake Como, Spring Lake and others that are home to both permanent and seasonal residents, as well as retail and commercial establishments, Metro said. The firm billed the project as the only self-storage facility constructed in the market during the past 10 years.
