A law firm is relocating and expanding to more than 18,000 square feet inside a Paramus office building, under a newly announced transaction by Newmark.
The tenant, Callagy Law, is also extending its lease at 650 From Road as part of the deal with Onyx Equities. According to Newmark’s David Simson, who represented the user, the firm’s new second-floor space will support its sizable and growing practice in health care and business litigation, along with several other areas.
Onyx Senior Vice President Adam Karafiol represented the landlord in-house in the 18,268-square-foot deal.
“Ownership put a lot of work into the property to create a best-in-class asset that is positioned to attract top-tier tenants,” said Simson, a vice chairman and chief operating officer for Newmark’s New Jersey region. “It was a great privilege to assist Callagy Law on this lease transaction as they move in a larger, updated environment that will foster the firm’s growth for years to come.”
Onyx acquired 560 From Road in 2019, giving way to a series of renovations to modernize the 350,000-square-foot, five-story property. Amenities include a full-service cafeteria, on-site daycare, an atrium lobby and proximity to a busy retail corridor near the Paramus Park Mall.
The property sits at the intersection of Ridgewood Avenue and the Garden State Parkway, providing easy access to routes 17 and 4, and Interstate 80.
Previously on the building’s second floor, Callagy Law provides legal representation and executive coaching services and advice to clients in New York, New Jersey, Arizona and Florida, according to a news release. The firm represents more than 700 medical providers in the personal injury protection, worker’s compensation and commercial insurance arenas.
