Two growing fitness chains have added locations in Bergen County, following leases arranged by NIA National Realty.
At 556 Route 17 in Paramus, the brokerage firm completed a 2,200-square-foot lease with F45 Training. The Australia-based operator joins the likes of The Vitamin Shoppe and Jenny Craig at the Sprout Brook Center, NIA said, noting that celebrity Mark Wahlberg recently became an investor in the rapidly growing company.
NIA National Realty Vice President Gregory Panayoti negotiated the transaction. The center is now fully leased as a result of the deal with F45.
“This shopping center is a prime retail site in a densely populated area in Bergen County and is easily accessible which made this location desirable,” Panayoti said. “556 presented F45 with the perfect solution for building membership and contributing to a thriving local business community.”
Panayoti also inked a 6,000-square-foot lease in Elmwood Park with Empire Fitness. The operator is taking the space at 15 Wallace St., a flex building that formerly served as Whitney Houston’s recording studio.
Empire Fitness is now open for business and offers multiple fitness class times and various programs including Crossfit, Olympic lifting, yoga and personal training, the news release said.
“This location is an area that offers the potential for a large customer base but has few national fitness brands,” Panayoti said.
