Newmark Knight Frank has bolstered its valuation and advisory practice in New Jersey with two of its newest hires.
The real estate services firm announced Friday that John Ennis and Brett Lake have joined its financial reporting practice as senior vice presidents. They will be based in the firm’s Whippany office, bringing more than 45 years of combined industry experience.
“We’re incredibly excited to have these two seasoned financial reporting professionals join our growing V&A team to provide industry-leading services,” said John Corbett, the leader of the firm’s V&A financial reporting practice. “NKF’s clients will benefit from Brett and John’s expertise in navigating complex financial, accounting, tax and regulatory issues.”
The practice aims to bring a comprehensive awareness of regulatory standards and property-specific insights in its guidance of multinational corporations, public and private real estate investment trusts, private equity groups and funds, according to a news release. Ennis brings more than 25 years of U.S. and international experience in real estate valuation and analysis, having served clients including federal agencies, municipalities, financial institutions, insurance companies, REITs, private and public corporations, public utilities and individuals.
Prior to joining NKF, Ennis spent 12 years with FTI Consulting, a global business advisory firm.
“Financial reporting services requires a high degree of attention to detail,” Ennis said. “Fostering that detail- and service-oriented culture is no easy achievement, so I could not ask for a better group of professionals to join than NKF’s Valuation & Advisory team.”
Lake brings more than 20 years of industry experience focused on consulting and valuation requirements, the news release said. He has successfully completed valuation and consulting assignments for all property types and previously spent more than 13 years with FTI Consulting.
“I couldn’t be happier to join a global powerhouse like NKF,” Lake said. “Having that kind of breadth and scale behind a talented team of expert financial reporting professionals is a rare opportunity and I look forward to continuing to grow the group and the V&A practice.”
