A new Nordstrom Rack is coming to Monmouth County with a newly signed, 26,000-square-foot lease at a Manalapan power center.
The off-price retailer, a division of Seattle-based Nordstrom Inc., says it will open at 15 Route 9 South in spring 2025. It’s set to join the tenant roster at Manalapan Commons under a deal with Urban Edge Properties, the owner of a complex that’s also home to Best Buy, Panera Bread, Five Below, PetSmart and Raymour & Flanigan.
“We look forward to being a part of the Manalapan Township community and serving our customers with an amazing offering of great brands at great prices,” said Gemma Lionello, president of Nordstrom Rack Stores. “We’re excited to grow our footprint in the region and introduce new customers to the Nordstrom experience.”
Lionello added that shoppers at the new location will be able to pick up online orders for both Nordstrom.com and NordstromRack.com and make returns. Nordstrom Rack, the largest source of new customers for the iconic retailer, offers up to 70 percent off on-trend apparel, accessories, beauty, home and shoes from many of the top brands sold at Nordstrom stores as well as core services.
With the new location at the junction of Route 9 and Craig Road, the company is expanding its footprint in New Jersey to four Nordstrom stores and nine Nordstrom Rack stores, which it says equates to more than 1,500 jobs statewide.
“Nordstrom Rack brings fashion to this center for the first time, broadening its appeal to the surrounding community,” said Leigh Lyons, senior vice president of leasing for Urban Edge. “We received interest from several large tenants before deciding to proceed with Nordstrom, supporting our view that Manalapan Commons as is a prime retail location in the trade area.”
