Onyx Equities has rented more than 60 percent of its newest luxury apartment building in downtown Ridgewood, a collection of one- and two-bedroom homes known as NOMA.
The 39-unit property at 48 North Maple St. is open for leasing after a recent preview period to those on its waitlist, the developer said. The developer is now eyeing a swift lease-up for the remaining apartments, banking on the site’s quick access to shops, restaurants and parks and a location about four blocks from Ridgewood’s train station.
Monthly rents begin at $3,250.
“Many of our residents have an existing connection to Ridgewood and see NOMA as the perfect reason to downsize in place or move back to the area,” said John Saraceno, Jr., co-founder and managing principal of Onyx Equities and Onyx Living. “It’s gratifying that our renters are recognizing just how special this community is. From its charming downtown location to every detail of its elevated living experience, this opportunity does not come around very often.”
The launch of NOMA comes after the lease-up of The Benjamin, a sister property by Onyx that opened last spring. With its newest building, the developer is offering upscale interiors and amenities such as a commercial-grade Matrix fitness center, a yoga studio with virtual training technology, a resident lounge with billiards and shuffleboard, a golf simulator, co-working spaces and others.
Outdoors, residents will have access to a rooftop lounge with a bar, a green lawn with a movie screen and a private party area.
“We made the design decision to make our amenity spaces larger than people might expect of a multifamily community to appeal to demographics including long-term Ridgewood residents who want to stay in Ridgewood without compromising the creature comforts they’re used to,” continued Saraceno.
The Marketing Directors is the leasing agent for NOMA, which sits between East Ridgewood and Franklin avenues, with a location that allows commuters to access Manhattan by train in around 40 minutes. It’s also minutes from restaurants and retail on the east and west sides of town, along with Van Neste Park, Veterans Field and major highways such as Route 17.
