Plans for another new apartment building in Plainfield are proceeding after recently securing a key approval from the city’s planning board, the project’s design team said.
Located at 1112 North Ave., the site is part of the municipality’s North Avenue redevelopment area and steps NJ Transit Netherwood station, according to Taylor Architecture & Design. Plans call for a five-story, 55-unit apartment building with covered parking and amenities such as first-floor bicycle storage, a dog wash room, a fitness center and a second-floor rooftop deck with soft seating areas and a pool.
“This project is one of four major projects located in the North and South Avenue corridors of Plainfield and are known as proof of concept that Plainfield multifamily development is on the rise,” Taylor Architecture & Design said in a description of the project. “The exterior of the building is a combination of iron spot brick and fiber cement panels with an articulated corner entrance with recessed grand stair entrance.”
Italo Teixeira spearheaded the design for the North Plainfield-based firm, while Brian Taylor presented the application on behalf of developer 1112 North Urban Renewal LLC. The project team also includes Lawrence A. Calli of Calli Law LLC, Robert Colucco of Dynamic Engineering Consultants PC and Paul Ricci of Ricci Planning.
