Princeton Eye Group has acquired a nearly 10,300-square-foot office building in the Somerset section of Franklin, brokers with Princeton Property Partners announced recently.
The buyer, one of the state’s largest ophthalmology and optometry practices, paid an undisclosed sum for the property at 950 Hamilton St. The deal allows the group to relocate from its current location on Easton Avenue, PPP said, noting that it also has offices in Monroe, North Brunswick and Princeton.
“This freestanding, two-story building met all of PEG’s criteria: visible and easily accessible location for existing patients, on-site ample parking for patients and staff, backup power, all new mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems,” said Sab Russo, president of Princeton Property Partners. “The previous tenant (a dialysis company) had spent considerable dollars to completely retrofit the building inside and out but never occupied the building.”
Russo represented the buyer, while Robert Ryan and Shawn Straka of Cushman & Wakefield represented the seller. The deal marks the second transaction that PPP has completed for Princeton Eye Group, following a 12,000-square-foot long-term lease in Monroe in 2020.
“We could not be happier with the acquisition of 950 Hamilton St.,” Princeton Eye Group Managing Partner Dave Reynolds said. “This property will allow our firm to expand its presence and market share in the growing New Brunswick/Somerset County market.”
