A wellness products chain is expanding to Monmouth County, as a franchisee works alongside R.J. Brunelli & Co. to find other locations in central New Jersey.
The operator, Synergy Capital Partners LLC, has leased 1,500 square feet at 1121 Route 34 in Aberdeen, where it will open a new My CBD Organics store in the third quarter, according to the R.J. Brunelli brokerage team. It’s now eyeing additional sites in Monmouth, Middlesex, Ocean counties for the seller of cannabidiol products, better known as CBD, as part of a growing industry in the retail sector.
Freehold-based Synergy Capital has tapped R.J. Brunelli as its leasing representative for its franchise territory in Central Jersey.
“My CBD Organics locations offer a wide selection of premium wellness and beauty products in an inviting, spa-like store environment,” said Synergy Capital President Brian Judy, who co-owns the business with his partner, Desiree Uebele. “Warm, earthy colors, soft seating, soft music and understated spa scenting combine to create a relaxing ambience. Those features are enhanced by the presence of knowledgeable customer care representatives who are trained to educate our guests on all the great benefits CBD has to offer.”
R.J. Brunelli said its client, a military veteran-owned business, hopes to eventually open five to 10 locations in the region and is seeking stores of 1,300 to 1,800 square feet in high-traffic highway strip centers, neighborhood shopping centers and central business districts. Its first shop will occupy the former Math Monkey space at Aberdeen’s Colonial Plaza, a 178,000-square-foot center at the intersection of Route 34 and Lloyd Road.
The chain will join tenants such as Stop & Shop, Bed Bath & Beyond, Famous Footwear, Hand & Stone, Smoothie King and DeMarco’s Catering & Gourmet Deli. R.J. Brunelli also serves as the leasing agent for the property, which is owned by Garden Commercial.
“CBD has become the norm for many to help with chronic pain, anxiety, sleeping issues and other maladies,” said Danielle Brunelli, president and principal with the Old Bridge-based firm. “People feel better about taking CBD than pain killers and other prescribed medications that can create addiction and other issues.”
The Monmouth County store will become My CBD Organics’ second in New Jersey, joining an initial location that opened in October 2019 in downtown Denville. The chain currently has seven total locations in operation in its home state of Georgia, North Carolina and New Jersey, with the Denville franchise operated by one of the chain’s co-founders.
Its product lineup includes CBD oils, lotions, gummies, organic teas and pet products.
“The rapid growth of the CBD industry has saturated the market with cheap, low-quality product sourced overseas or from biomass facilities,” Uebele said. “In contrast, all items sold at My CBD Organics shops undergo third-party testing, ensuring consumers that they are getting the highest quality, organic products.”
