A realtors association has acquired a former restaurant building in Saddle Brook that it now plans to use as its future headquarters, according to brokers with The Goldstein Group.
The retail real estate services firm announced that Greater Bergen Realtors has purchased 405 North Midland Ave., which was once occupied by Bennigan’s Restaurant and Steak & Ale Restaurant, from Abramson-Obal LLC. The realtors group now plans to retrofit the 13,000-square-foot building, allowing it to relocate its offices from Hasbrouck Heights.
“We’ve seen a considerable increase in the sales of retail properties recently, including the repositioning of retail properties into other uses like offices or other commercial uses,” said Chuck Lanyard, The Goldstein Group’s president. “Many landlords are finding that tenants are looking to purchase property and we have been involved in various sales over the past year. We’ve found that owners have decided to sell certain properties instead of leasing, and our expertise in finding the right buyer has afforded our owners great results.”
Lanyard and Sales Associate Alex Goldstein represented the seller, while Gilsenan & Co. represented the buyer.
