A longtime executive with Hartz Mountain Industries has joined RIPCO Real Estate as part of its New Jersey brokerage team.
The firm this week announced the hiring of Deborah Stone, highlighting her role in many high-profile mixed-use and retail projects in Hudson County and the state. She joins RIPCO’s Lyndhurst office after most recently serving as assistant vice president for leasing and marketing with Hartz.
“In addition to working closely with Deborah, and considering her a longtime friend, we brought her on board due to her versatility, extensive knowledge of the market and successful track record of securing leases on behalf of top-tier retailers and renowned owners,” said Curtis Nassau, managing partner of RIPCO New Jersey. “Deborah’s breadth of leasing, marketing and development experience and deep network of relationships will make her a terrific asset to our growing New Jersey team. We are thrilled to have her with us.”
During her time with Hartz, Stone was responsible for the marketing, leasing and development of retail, office, industrial, hospitality, residential and entertainment properties, according to a news release. In the firm’s hometown of Secaucus, she played an integral role in repositioning the retail components within the Harmon Meadow complex and initiated other residential, hotel and restaurant projects at the complex.
Stone also spearheaded efforts at Lincoln Harbor in Weehawken, a waterfront mixed-use development that is home to tenants such as Houlihan’s, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Chart House and Jack Austin’s Eat & Drink, the news release said. Outside of Hudson County, she was recently involved in the development and leasing of Edison Towne Square, which includes a Sam’s Club, Top Golf, Starbucks, Zinburger and other operators.
“The opportunity to work at New Jersey’s premier retail brokerage and to leverage my industry relationships to further elevate RIPCO’s position in the market was an opportunity, and a challenge, that was too good to pass up,” Stone said. “I have a passion for all things real estate, especially the redevelopment and repositioning of assets, and feel that my skill set aligns extremely well with the firm’s overall business strategy.
“I am looking forward to now calling longtime friends my official colleagues.”
She is a licensed salesperson in New Jersey and member of International Council of Shopping Centers.
