The owners of a retail and office complex in Secaucus have inked new leases with 10 tenants, according to brokers with Ripco Real Estate who were involved in the transactions.
Ripco said the retailers leased more than 10,000 square feet in total at The Plaza at Harmon Meadow, which is owned by The Carlton Group and New Valley. They include new tenants — Which Wich, Firenza Pizza, The Max Challenge and Big Bowls Little Plates Noodle House — along with existing tenants Dunkin Donuts, Stefano’s Mediterranean and Plaza Candy, which signed long-term leases to remain at the property.
David Townes and Curtis Nassau of Ripco represented ownership as the retail leasing agents at The Plaza at Harmon Meadow. Nick DePaolera and Fernando Garip of NAI James E. Hanson, the office leasing agents at The Plaza, are responsible for three new leases totaling more than 5,000 square feet, with tenants including Datasoft, Ferrarini and Youth Advocate Program.
“Harmon Meadow is a dynamic location,” Townes said. “It benefits from an ideal road network, and a unique mix of office, hotel, retail and entertainment.”
Nassau added that the center is supported by 1,500 hotel rooms, the Meadowlands Exposition Center and the 14-screen Kerasotes Showplace movie theater.
“And Route 3 averages 118,000 cars per day,” Nassau said. “Additionally, the demographics are super strong with almost 300,000 people living and 100,000 people working within three miles of the center.”
According to Ripco, the details of the recent transactions are as follows:
- Which Wich, an established national fast casual restaurant franchise with more than 430 locations and known for design-your-own sandwiches, leased 1,354 square feet.
- Firenza Pizza, another national restaurant franchise with a dozen locations around the country, leased 1,833 square feet.
- Big Bowls Little Plates Noodle House, a New Jersey-based fast casual ramen restaurant concept, leased 1,487 square feet for its second location.
- Max Challenge, a national boutique fitness franchise with upwards of 70 locations, leased 2,200 square feet.
- Dunkin’ Donuts, an existing tenant at Harmon Meadow, leased 1,295 square feet.
- Stefano’s Mediterranean Grill, another longtime tenant of the complex, offering a small, relaxed Mediterranean eatery with a warm vibe serving kebabs, gyros and other classic fare, leased 1,449 square feet.
- Plaza Candy, another existing tenant, leased 495 square feet.
- Datasoft, an existing office tenant, expanded its space and renewed for 2,705 square feet.
- Ferranini signed a new lease for 1,248 square feet of office space.
- Youth Advocate Program signed a new lease for 1,104 square feet of office space.
The Carlton Group and New Valley are planning renovations to the center that will include a revamp of the landscaping and lighting, as well as new signage throughout the property, Ripco said.
“The capital improvements to landscaping and signage will serve to benefit both existing and new tenants,” Townes said.
