Shake Shack will be among the tenants at a 157,000-square-foot shopping center now under construction in Parsippany, under a newly announced lease with RD Management and JMF Properties.
The developers and brokers with Ripco Real Estate said Wednesday that the eatery will occupy 3,500 square feet at what will become Waterview Marketplace. It will join anchor tenant Whole Foods Market at the property, located at Route 46 and Waterview Boulevard, when the complex opens in late 2018.
“From a visibility standpoint, Shake Shack will be located within a very well trafficked corridor,” Ripco’s Alison Horbach said. “We expect the restaurant to attract a high number of residents, in addition to the growing number of office workers in the Parsippany area and loyal customers from surrounding towns.
“We are in conversations with similar best-in-class retailers looking to join Shake Shack and Whole Foods at Waterview Marketplace and are looking forward to announcing new leases in short order.”
Shake Shack, a fast casual concept founded by restauranteur Danny Meyer in 2004, is known for its 100 percent all natural Angus beef burgers, chicken sandwiches and crispy crinkle cut fries. The operator now has more than 100 locations in the U.S. and more than 50 internationally.
