Russo Development is gearing up to open its latest luxury multifamily project, a collection of nearly 300 apartments in the Union County borough of Garwood.
Known as Vermella at Garwood Station, the property is steps from NJ Transit rail service and will feature 40,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenity space. The Carlstadt-based developer is planning to launch the 296-unit property this fall, marking another addition to its sprawling portfolio of apartments in the state.
The complex at South Avenue and Center Street has repurposed the former site of a large industrial property.
“Vermella at Garwood Station is shaping up to be one of our most anticipated new offerings,” said Russo Development CEO Edward Russo, whose firm has delivered eight other Vermella communities throughout the region. “We expect the introduction of the Vermella lifestyle, coupled with this neighborhood’s close-knit, small town setting with access to Manhattan and popular New Jersey destinations, to resonate with both existing residents and those discovering this location for the first time.”
In announcing the update, Russo touted the site’s proximity to retail and dining and plans for an outdoor plaza that will host community events. The collection of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom homes, designed by Minno & Wasko Architects and Planners, will have amenities such as a high-end fitness center, a clubroom, private co-working spaces and a resort-style pool, among others.
Along with its immediate access to NJ Transit trains, Vermella at Garwood Station is minutes from thoroughfares such as the Garden State Parkway and routes 27 and 22.
