Alfred Sanzari Enterprises has negotiated a 6,029-square-foot office lease in Elmwood Park with the United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 888.
According to Sanzari, the landlord, UFCW is relocating to 475 Market St. from East Rutherford. Larry Martin, Tom Reilly and Brendan McBride of JLL represented ownership in the deal at what’s known as Elmwood Park Plaza, while Brian Leary and James O’Neill of Bridge Property Advisors represented the tenant.
Founded in 1957, UFCW Union Local 888 has more than 6,000 members from a wide range of industries across New York and New Jersey. Its new location at the 68,000-square-foot building is close to Interstate 80, Route 46 and the Garden State Parkway.
“As we sought to move our headquarters, we placed a premium on ensuring ease of access for all those we serve as well as adaptability to the wide range of programs and services we administer from our headquarters,” said Rosalba Perez, secretary treasurer for UFCW Local 888. “Elmwood Park Plaza checked both of those boxes and we are confident that Alfred Sanzari Enterprises’ hands-on management will ensure we have a headquarters to be proud of for years to come.”
Elmwood Park Plaza has on-site surface and covered parking and is approved zoning for both office and medical uses.
“We continue to see heightened demand for office space across our portfolio and remain bullish on the sector despite the challenges over the past two years,” said Steve Jennings, vice president of leasing and marketing at Alfred Sanzari Enterprises. “For tenants like UFCW Local 888, the importance of having a space where employees can collaborate, and its members can easily access the location and services cannot be overstated and continues to drive demand across the sector.”
