A biopharmaceutical firm has moved into its new 25,000-square-foot office space in Woodbridge, following a build-out by SJP Properties’ third-party construction arm.
According to SJP, which is also the landlord, Helsinn opened its doors at 200 Wood Ave. South after relocating from a nearby property. Its new first-floor office includes conference and meeting facilities, a training room, open collaboration areas, a wellness room and a private outdoor terrace, while the company benefits from building amenities such as a fitness center, landscaped outdoor meeting areas and nationally recognized food operators on site.
The global biopharma company, which focuses on oncology and rare diseases, tapped SJP Project Solutions to spearhead the build-out in the Iselin section of Woodbridge.
“In spite of economic headwinds faced by many industries, New Jersey’s life sciences sector continues to evolve and thrive at an incredible rate,” said Alexander Erdos, SJP’s senior vice president for leasing and marketing. “Not only is SJP able to offer these companies resilient workplace environments, but we are able to deliver built-to-suit spaces tailored to address unique tenant needs. The future growth of the state’s life sciences sector is dependent upon the ability of these companies to tap into the highly educated labor pool within surrounding markets. SJP’s presence in New Jersey continues to facilitate this connection and compel more top-tier companies to establish footprints in transit-oriented suburbs like Iselin.”

Helsinn, which relocated from 170 Wood Ave. South, joins tenants such as Siemens, DSV and Credit Agricole. They’re among several companies to lease space at 200 Wood since SJP acquired the 270,000-square-foot building in early 2020 and launched a major update of the property, including new building systems and indoor and outdoor amenity spaces.
Doing so capitalized on the building’s location in the Metropark submarket, which provides tenants with quick access to major highways and both NJ Transit and Amtrak rail service. SJP also touted the ability for companies such as Helsinn to access the region’s rich labor pool.
