Thousands descended on Atlantic City on Wednesday as the Atlantic Builders Convention kicked off its first full day, drawing a crush of developers, vendors and service providers to a sprawling exhibit floor and a series of programs at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
The event’s host, the New Jersey Builders Association, said some 2,000 attendees arrived for the annual gathering of the region’s homebuilding industry. Those on hand spread through the hotel’s Etess Arena for a convention floor that featured hundreds of exhibitors, while also taking part in a series of networking events and panel discussions.

NJBA leaders noted that this year’s conference features a revamped schedule, including the popular Sales and Marketing Awards on Wednesday night instead of Tuesday. The exhibit floor is slated to reopen Thursday morning as part of a schedule that also includes an economic forecast by Dr. Robert Dietz of the National Association of Home Builders, a panel discussion on design trends and a ticketed luncheon hosted by Professional Women in Building.
The convention kicked off late Tuesday afternoon, returning to the Hard Rock for a second year, as NJBA leaders touted the event’s continued growth while conveying cautious optimism around affordable housing policy in New Jersey.
