A solar energy company has leased more than 9,000 square feet of office space in Jersey City, in a newly announced transaction by Cushman & Wakefield.
Brokers with the firm represented the tenant, Soltage, in the long-term commitment at 333 Washington St. The location inside the five-story, 51,307-square-foot property provides it with a short walk from the Hudson waterfront and NJ Transit light rail service.
“We are thrilled to see Jersey City-based companies like Soltage choosing to expand their offices and commit to Jersey City long-term,” said C&W’s Mina Shehata, who brokered the 9,065-square-foot lease alongside David DeMatteis.
The firm added that Soltage develops, finances and operates distributed utility-scale solar, solar-plus-storage and standalone storage project portfolios across the U.S. Its new lease comes amid renewed interest among office users in Jersey City or those considering a move to the area.
“The Hudson waterfront is beginning to experience increased leasing velocity as companies navigate their long-term office strategies for a post pandemic world,” DeMatteis said. “The market is experiencing diversification and is poised for some great growth in the next few months.”
