Kushner Cos. has made two more additions to its retail and dining lineup at Pier Village in Long Branch, inking leases with Starbucks and a Japanese sushi steakhouse.
Slated to open in late summer, the coffee chain and Koto Asian Bistro are among nine retail tenants that have committed to the property in the last seven months. They will join the roster at what’s known as The Shops at Pier Village, part of the acclaimed oceanfront destination that also includes luxury apartments, condominiums and hotel rooms.
Pierson Commercial is Kushner’s retail leasing agent at the site.
“Attracting high-profile businesses like Starbucks and Koto to Pier Village is a testament to the desirability and confidence that The Shops and Pier Village provides to tenants of all sizes,” Kushner’s Nicole Kushner Meyer said. “We are excited to welcome Starbucks, Koto and the diverse array of tenants who are joining the Pier Village family this year and further cementing its status as the premier Jersey Shore destination for residents, businesses and visitors alike.”
In announcing the deals, Kushner noted that Koto Asian Bistro has more than 30 U.S. locations. It’s soon to be among more than 20 food and beverage operators at Pier Village ranging from casual to fine dining concepts, many of which continue to expand at the property.
Other newly signed tenants at the year-round complex include Phorm, a fitness concept from the owners of Gold’s Gym, along with the contemporary fashion boutique aXd by Alba, Baldy Art Gallery and Gavone’s, an elevated and convenient fast-casual pasta restaurant. Also scheduled to open this summer are Doggie Sweets, a dog café and retail store, and Sundae Donuts, a purveyor of freshly baked donuts, creative ice creams and other items.
“For tenants like Starbucks and Koto, there are few locations in the region that can provide the mix of visibility, foot traffic and demographics quite like Pier Village,” said Ryan Starkman, a director at Pierson Commercial. “We continue to see our existing tenants find tremendous success at the property and strong demand from potential tenants looking to experience and leverage all that the property has to offer.”
Pier Village draws more than 2.3 million visitors annually and is home to 493 rental apartments, 243 upscale condos and 91 hotel rooms.
