A developer has marked the opening of a new 144-unit luxury apartment complex in Camden County, having leased more than a quarter of its homes in less than a month.
The firm, Sterling Properties, hopes to draw renters to its Station Place project in Lawnside with a mix of high-end amenities and a location just steps from the Woodcrest PATCO station. That provides residents at 400 East Oak Ave. with a direct ride to Philadelphia.
“Today we celebrate an exciting new addition to the Lawnside community as we officially cut the ribbon on Station Place,” said Wayne Zuckerman, partner and co-founder of Sterling Properties. “We’re incredibly proud of the beautiful community we’ve been able to deliver and deeply appreciative of our partnership with the Lawnside and state government officials who have been instrumental in helping bring Station Place to fruition.”
The developer joined public officials on Friday for a ceremonial ribbon-cutting at the property, where it has rented more than 40 apartments since the launch of leasing earlier this month. On hand were U.S. Rep. Donald W. Norcross, state Sen. Nilsa Cruz-Perez and Lawnside Mayor Mary Ann Wardlow.
“The opening of Station Place marks an important milestone in the Borough of Lawnside’s Oak Avenue Redevelopment plan,” Wardlow said. “The community brings the type of high-quality housing that is in high demand near the PATCO station. We anticipate it will play a significant role in helping to further establish Lawnside as one of the region’s most desirable residential options.”
In a news release, Sterling said the collection of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom homes features spaces such as an outdoor pool, a resident lounge, a fitness center and bocce courts, among others. Residents also have easy access to a large network of parks, shopping and dining options.
Station Place is the latest addition to a Sterling portfolio that spans New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York and Connecticut.
“Everyone deserves a safe, affordable place to call home, especially now as we continue to fight the coronavirus and begin to recover from its impact on our lives and economy,” Norcross said. “This new housing will provide Lawnside families with the foundation they need to build back better, as well as access to public transportation, jobs and quality education. It’s an honor to celebrate the completion of this project, and I look forward to seeing how these new homes positively impact the community and children for generations to come.”
