A new $10,000 donation from TD Bank is helping to advance the mission of a Franklin Lakes-based charity that helps bring essential medical services to children with rare illnesses.
Paulette Pera Laurenzi, founder and president of the Spring Lake Toys Foundation, visited a local branch recently to highlight the gift from the Cherry Hill-based lender. On hand were Regional Vice President Charles Ponti and Regional Sponsorship Manager Thomas Hewitt, who presented an oversized check to a group that also included Salvatore V. Frassetto, the foundation’s director, and board member David Green.
“This year so far, we have been fortunate to experience such an outpouring of generosity,” Laurenzi said. “With TD Bank, it’s so great to see such an iconic corporation so focused on giving back to the community. Just knowing how much these donations help children with rare illnesses receive the crucial care they need, is truly something special.”
In a news release, the organizations noted that TD Bank’s charitable work focuses on being a resource for those in desperate need of a financial lifeline, from foundation support of grants to community sponsorships and partnering with groups like the Spring Lake Toys Foundation.
“What I love about TD Bank is that they encourage us to pursue charitable venues we are passionate about, which makes us a perfect fit with Paulette’s Spring Lake Toys Foundation,” said Donald Buckley, the lender’s market president for commercial. “Just seeing what she has accomplished for these children with rare illnesses and their families has truly been an inspiration.”
Laurenzi added: “Aside from daily support, the generous donation from TD Bank allows us to take a step back, look towards the future and see how we can evolve our organization to have more of a positive impact on the lives of these precious children.”
