A third generation has joined the leadership team at Key Properties LLC, a Teaneck-based developer and real estate management firm.

Jonathan Schlussel comes to the firm from Colliers International Group, joining his father and uncle, co-managing partners David and Marc Schlussel. In his new role, he is involved in all facets of Key Properties’ operation, from development and project management to leasing and acquisitions.
Founded more than 30 years ago by Abraham Schlussel, Key Properties has been involved in more than 1 million square feet of commercial projects including office, industrial and retail properties, as well as mixed-use developments, the firm said in a news release. Its principals have worked with municipalities, state agencies and real estate professionals to transform dozens of underutilized properties into valuable real estate assets.
“I look forward to following in the footsteps of my grandfather, father and uncle at Key Properties,” Jonathan Schlussel said. “I grew up in the real estate business and have worked in it professionally for several years.
“Our company has entered a period of notable growth, making this the perfect time for me to join the team. I look forward to contributing to our family business’ continued success.”
Schlussel was on the investment sales team at Colliers International, the news release said. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Brandeis University.
“It is gratifying to see our family’s next generation coming on board, bringing fresh ideas and energy,” Marc Schlussel said. “Jonathan’s practical knowledge and hands-on experience will play important roles in bolstering our company’s position and moving us forward today and for many years to come.”
