Inserra Supermarkets is coming to a Passaic County shopping center under a newly announced 31,000-square-foot lease with The Azarian Group LLC.
According to a news release, Inserra plans to open The Fresh Grocer store at Ringwood’s Fieldstone Plaza on Nov. 8. The new full-service supermarket at 130 Skyline Drive will offer fresh prepared foods, groceries and produce, as well as a wide selection of international products and cheeses, sushi and frozen, dairy and floral departments.
It will be the first store under The Fresh Grocer banner for Inserra, which operates some two dozen ShopRites in New Jersey and New York and two Price Rite Marketplace stores. The family-owned company is part of Wakefern Food Corp., the retailer-owned supermarket cooperative.
“We want to make sure the community has access to a full-service supermarket during the busiest time of year, so we are opening even as renovations of the space continue,” said Lawrence Inserra Jr., chairman and CEO of Inserra Supermarkets Inc. “We are proud and excited to open The Fresh Grocer of Fieldstone Plaza, Ringwood, NJ. It has been an honor for our family to serve New Jersey shoppers since 1954, and this new store reflects our continued commitment to community. We welcome customers and thank them in advance for their patience as we continue to renovate the space to enhance the shopping experience.”
Azarian Group manages Fieldstone Plaza, a 95,566-square-foot property that’s home to around 27 tenants. The new supermarket will backfill a space that housed Stop & Shop, which announced earlier this year that it would shutter the location as part of some 30 store closings in the state.
Other features of The Fresh Grocer will include locally sourced produce, a full-service butcher with custom-cut meat, from-scratch bakery and ready-made meals and to-go items, the news release said. The store will also carry Wakefern’s Bowl & Basket, Wholesome Pantry and Paperbird private label products that are also found at ShopRite.
