Transwestern has hired a real estate industry veteran as its new director of operations in New Jersey, the brokerage and service firm announced.
Lisa Addeo joins the firm’s Parsippany office and will oversee operations, finance and compliance activities, with a special focus on supporting its brokerage professionals, according to a news release. She will also pursue business development opportunities and manage client-service initiatives.
She has more than 15 years of commercial and residential real estate experience and most recently served as chief financial officer at a New Jersey-based development firm, Transwestern said. In that role, she oversaw all aspects of redevelopment projects, in addition to overseeing daily office and finance operations.
“Lisa has a stellar background and an excellent reputation,” said James Postell, Transwestern partner and city leader in New Jersey. “Transwestern will benefit greatly from her extensive industry knowledge, and as we continue to expand, her energetic personality makes her an ideal fit for Transwestern’s entrepreneurial environment.”
Addeo has also worked at The Walsh Co. and later Avison Young as vice president of finance and operations, managing budgeting, forecasting, payroll and human resources for the company’s New York City, Boston, Washington, D.C., and New Jersey offices. She joins a Transwestern office in Parsippany that has steadily grown since it was established in 2011.
“The enthusiastic team and creative atmosphere that exists at Transwestern played huge roles in my decision to join the firm,” Addeo said. “There’s a unique culture at Transwestern, which is known for investing time in its employees and fostering growth. I’m extremely excited to join the team, and I look forward to contributing to the firm’s future success.”
The hiring comes as the Houston-based brokerage firm adds to its collection of workplace accolades. The company said late last month that Great Place to Work and Fortune have named the firm to its 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials list for the second year.
Transwestern, the only third-party, full-service commercial real estate firm to be recognized, was ranked No. 38. The firm said it promotes teamwork and skills development among its young team members through Young Professionals groups in its major offices.
The ranking considered 398,000 surveys that assessed organizations’ fairness, teamwork, benefits and other elements essential to an outstanding work culture, according to a news release. While many companies report high turnover among younger workers, an average of 85 percent of millennial front-line employees on the Best Workplaces list said they want to work at their organizations for a long time.
“Transwestern is intentional in creating a work environment that emphasizes personal empowerment, innovation and teamwork,” Chip Clarke, Transwestern’s president for the Americas, said in a prepared statement. “We encourage all of our team members, including our youngest professionals, to provide their thoughtful input and leadership. This award is a testament to the value we place on their contributions.”
