Two New Jersey law firms are joining forces to create a team of more than 50 attorneys and what it says will be a wide-ranging legal practice.
The firms — McManimon, Scotland and Baumann LLC and Trenk DiPasquale Della Fera & Sodono P.C. — announced Wednesday that they are joining together effective Oct. 1. They will operate under the McManimon, Scotland and Baumann masthead and maintain its headquarters at 75 Livingston Ave. in Roseland.
The combined firm will also continue to have space in Newark while expanding its current office in Trenton, according to a news release.
McManimon Scotland, or MS&B, has practice areas including land use and development, structured finance, environmental, corporate and securities, litigation and affordable housing, the news release said. Trenk DiPasquale, meantime, is known for its commercial litigation practice group as well as its corporate restructuring, debtor/creditor and insolvency capabilities.
“We firmly believe that TD attorneys are the most outstanding practitioners in their fields,” said Joseph P. Baumann Jr., MS&B’s chair. “They have been involved in virtually every significant Chapter 11 case in New Jersey for the past 20 years.
“This joinder of our two firms presents an enormous opportunity for the combined firm to continue to distinguish itself on an expanded platform in the New Jersey legal community.”
The news release highlighted TD’s role with clients such as Babyland Family Services Inc.,
Barry Sharer and Hudson Healthcare Inc. It also noted MS&B’s work on several high-profile projects including the Prudential Center, the Military Ocean Terminal at Bayonne, the Asbury Park waterfront redevelopment and the American Dream project.
“The character, culture, commitment to the community and diversity, and the quality representation of both firms, are remarkably consistent and refreshing,” said Richard D. Trenk, TD’s founding partner. “We are confident that we are going to have a highly successful combined enterprise that will render great results for our clients. It’s time to get to work.”
The firm said the joinder will create a team of 51 attorneys and a full offering of legal services.
“On a personal and professional level this joinder is both exciting and exhilarating,” said Glenn F. Scotland, a member of MS&B. “There are few instances in our careers when we find ourselves at that special intersection between an institutional commitment to excellence and an across-the-board fondness and respect for the individuals that will be part of the combined enterprise. At MS&B, greater things lie ahead.”
