Tim Greiner

The United Way of Northern New Jersey is set to honor one of the state’s top office brokers later this spring, recognizing his decade of service to the organization and its mission.
Tim Greiner, an executive managing director with JLL, will receive the 2021 United Way Spirit Award on June 11 as part of the annual United Way Commercial Real Estate Network Legacy Event. He will receive the honor during the livestreamed virtual gala, the United Way’s largest annual fundraiser, in an event that typically draws hundreds of industry leaders.
In announcing the award, the organization cited the time and resources Greiner has dedicated over the past decade to help the 130,000 households in the northern New Jersey region that the United Way describes as ALICE, or asset-limited, income constrained and employed, or in poverty before the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
Proceeds from the gala will help to support these households.
“It is an honor to support the mission of the United Way of Northern New Jersey as it fights for racial and financial equity for families who are one hardship away from extreme distress,” Greiner said. “The United Way’s data-driven approach to identify and advocate for the underserved ALICE population became even more important last year during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“That distress came for many of those families who never before qualified for federal or state financial aid … and the United Way stepped in to help those in need. I’m proud of the work that United Way of Northern NJ has done to help those families and I’m grateful to the organization that has been part of my life for over 20 years. My wife, Amanda and I, want to thank the organization for the 2021 United Way Spirit Award, and we look forward to continuing our effort to helping struggling families reach personal and financial success.”
Greiner is a United Way Board of Trustees member and Commercial Real Estate Network Committee member, as well as a former co-chair of the network’s fundraising event, according to a news release. He has helped to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for the organization, contributing to JLL’s continued support as a gold sponsor, and has committed himself as a Tocqueville Society donor.
Based in Parsippany, Greiner oversees the office brokerage leasing activities in New Jersey and leads more than 50 professionals serving JLL’s occupier and investor clients. He received a law degree from Rutgers University and a bachelor’s in philosophy with a minor in business administration from Vanderbilt University.
