Hollister Construction Services has hired an industry veteran to lead its estimating team.
In a news release Thursday, the firm announced the addition of Bruce Schlesier as vice president of estimating. In the new role, Hollister said he will lead and manage his team’s efforts for the preparation and timely delivery of cost reports and cost deliverables
Schlesier brings executive management experience in estimating, scheduling, cost controls, building design and construction, with more than 30 years of experience, the news release said. His recent experience includes serving as the chief estimator for one of the largest contractors in New York City, where his department maintained a preconstruction backlog of more than $1 billion in construction projects.
Prior to that, Schlesier was the Northeast director of preconstruction for Tutor Perini Building Corp. in New York and Philadelphia. In that role, he managed preconstruction on the massive Hudson Yards redevelopment project.
Schlesier has also served as a managing director with Cumming Corp., an international cost management consulting firm, managing its worldwide gaming division.
He earned his bachelor’s in architecture and construction management from the University of Arkansas and holds a Certified Professional Estimator certification. Schlesier is currently serving as the national vice president of the American Society of Professional Estimators and is a board member of the organization’s New York City’s chapter.
