A developer is set to debut 100 new age- and income-restricted apartments in Ocean County, the latest piece of a 370-acre redevelopment just off the Garden State Parkway.
The firm, Walters, said it has nearly completed construction at 120 Campbell Blvd. in Manahawkin, also known as Cornerstone At Stafford. The first residents are expected to move into the three-story building, which offers one- and two-bedroom floorplans, by next month.
Plans have called for the use of environmentally friendly technologies during construction, including a design meant to achieve certification under the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design scale. The property also features noninvasive landscaping, the use of recycled materials during construction and a close proximity to local retailers.
“This will be a stunning modern community, offering exceptional housing options for seniors,” said Joseph Del Duca, partner and director of affordable housing for Walters. “The building is designed to be green which will help improve the health and well-being of residents while saving energy, environmental resources and money.”
Located off Exit 63 of the Garden State Parkway, the complex is part of the Stafford Park redevelopment, which encompasses a 400,000-square-foot mixed-use retail complex and residential neighborhood. It is also the latest Jersey Shore-area project for the Barnegat-based builder.
Residents at Cornerstone have access to public spaces such as a clubhouse with gathering rooms, a fitness center, lounges and computer workstations, according to a news release. The property will also offer organized activities and events led by on-site property managers and a social services coordinator.
Cornerstone At Stafford will be open to adults 55 and older who do not make more than 60 percent of the county’s median income, Walters said.
