Design firm Ware Malcomb has announced a series of promotions in its Newark office.
In a news release, the practice said it has elevated Scott Daniel to director, architecture, and Jon Anderson to studio manager, architecture. Meantime, Adam Smith has risen to the role of studio manager, advanced manufacturing.
“I am very excited to share the news about these key promotions in our region,” said Edward Mayer II, principal, architecture, of Ware Malcomb’s Northeast region. “Scott has been instrumental in the leadership of the studios and has become a respected advisor among clients in the Northeast market. Jon and Adam have both demonstrated significant drive and dedication to our projects, directly contributing to the growth we are experiencing. We are looking forward to seeing these three key leaders grow in their new roles.”
In his new role, Daniel will lead growth and management of the region’s architecture studios in New Jersey and New York, the news release said. A registered architect in both states, he has three decades of experience in the architecture industry and has led and designed multimillion-dollar projects, both nationally and internationally.
Daniel joined Ware Malcomb as a senior project manager in 2019, working directly with clients and managing projects from concept through construction to completion. He was promoted to studio manager, architecture in June 2021 and has completed project types including industrial, multifamily, office, hospitality and retail, among others, holding a bachelor’s from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and an MBA from the University of Arizona.
He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.
In his role as studio manager, architecture, Anderson will also help lead the architecture studios in the New Jersey and New York offices and steer select projects, the firm said. The Philadelphia University graduate joined Ware Malcomb in 2015 as a job captain and was subsequently promoted to project manager and senior project manager, having overseen industrial, interiors and mixed-use projects and coordinated directly with several large client accounts.
Smith, in his new role, will lead the advanced manufacturing studios and select projects in the New Jersey and New York offices. He brings extensive knowledge in overseeing the project quality assurance process, with an in-depth expertise in building code analysis, constructability review and design requirements, having joined Ware Malcomb in 2012 as a project coordinator before being promoted to the roles of project manager and senior project manager.
The firm added that Smith has experience in specialized industrial facility design including that of multistory distribution and food processing projects. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture from the University of Buffalo and Kent State University, respectively.
