Moonachie-based Weiss Realty is seeking a new tenant for a warehouse in Illinois, naming a Chicago-based team with JLL as its leasing agent for the 488,000-square-foot property.
According to Jaime M. Weiss, the firm’s president and managing member of Queenanne Realty LLC, the space at 2500 North 22nd St. in Decatur is a former facility for Caterpillar Inc. that sits on more than 30 acres. It’s also part of a 650,000-square-foot industrial park spanning 138 acres, Weiss said, touting it as an opportunity for logistics or manufacturing users.
JLL Senior Vice President Conor Mullady is spearheading the leasing assignment.
“We are excited to partner with JLL’s Chicago industrial team under the expert guidance of Conor Mullady to attract new tenants to this strategically located property,” Weiss said. “This warehouse is ideally suited for companies looking to expand in the Decatur area, a key industrial hub with excellent transportation infrastructure.”
Weiss Realty acquired the Decatur property from Firestone in 2003 as part of a broader portfolio of industrial assets, according to a news release. Caterpillar had been a tenant for more than 15 years before consolidating its warehousing operations into a company-owned facility.
