Woodmont Properties has announced two new promotions tied to its expanded focus on training and career development.

In her new role as a learning and development specialist, Meghann Belford will help spearhead organizational learning and implement programs geared toward talent management and coaching across the Fairfield-based firm. She will report to Cynthia Gonzalez, director of human resources, who leads Woodmont’s focus on learning and career development.
“It’s an incredibly exciting opportunity to transition into this important position dedicated to supporting both the short- and long-term goals of my fellow team members,” Belford said. “This opportunity and the creation of this specific role is truly a testament to Woodmont Properties’ steadfast commitment to the success of its team members, both personally and professionally. I look forward to helping continue that commitment.”
Belford joined Woodmont in 2016 as the floating community manager for its property management portfolio, according to a news release. After demonstrating a penchant for identifying and addressing operational areas of opportunity within the department, she was promoted to regional operations manager, where she led her team in implementing and managing new initiatives, including several training programs for property management.
Her past areas of focus have included facilitating a training program for Woodmont’s revenue management software and sales instruction program, the firm said. In 2018, Belford transitioned to regional community manager, overseeing the eastern region, where she was responsible for creating three new positions and developing team members with new paths to career development.
“Meghann’s resourcefulness in utilizing various tools and programs to support the learning and professional career development of our team has been extremely beneficial to Woodmont’s ongoing growth, especially as we continue to build best-in-class communities throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York,” said Lewis Zlotnick, president of Woodmont Properties. “We’re thrilled to welcome her into this new role and anticipate her work ethic, dedication, operational knowledge and genuine ambition for cultivating Woodmont’s internal culture will yield tremendous benefits for every member of the Woodmont family.”

Courtney Troka will step into Belford’s previous position as regional community manager overseeing the east region, Woodmont said. Troka, who joined the firm in 2016, served as community manager of Woodmont Place at Palmer and at Woodmont Valley in Lower Macungie in Pennsylvania.
In 2020, she was promoted to senior community manager, providing support across the portfolio. In her newest role, she will be responsible for guiding her team through day-to-day building management and resident relations, as well as ensuring successful lease-ups and continuing to manage the ongoing challenges presented by COVID-19.
“We’re so pleased to provide learning and development programs that will empower our team members with the tools and enhanced skills to increase their professional knowledge and prepare them to meet our elite standards of performance,” said Gonzalez, the human resources director.
The moves come as the developer continues to grow its team and promote internally, supporting a portfolio that has grown by some 4,000 units in recent years, the news release said. Meantime, the firm’s Woodmont Industrial Partners unit since 2019 has transacted on 4 million square feet of industrial space located in several eastern intermodal markets.
