The nation’s largest transmission repair chain has tapped CBRE to help it expand in New Jersey, New York and other key markets across the country.
The real estate services firm announced Tuesday that it was representing AAMCO Transmissions and Total Car Care in the expansion effort. Retail specialists Patti AmecAngelo and Joe AmecAngelo, who are based in CBRE’s East Brunswick office, will oversee the leasing campaign in conjunction with AAMCO real estate and franchise development executives.
Along with the tristate area, the team will seek locations for new and existing franchisees in regions such as Florida, Texas, Arizona and Georgia.
“The current market conditions have demonstrated the essential nature of automotive service companies such as AAMCO, making them a highly attractive tenant for property owners in challenging economic times,” Patti AmecAngelo said.
The Philadelphia-based automotive repair company is targeting high-profile locations in suburban markets with roughly 3,000 to 5,500 square feet, CBRE said. Optimal sites would be 4,500 square feet and include end-cap and standalone locations with parking for more than 10 cars, high traffic volume and visibility with easy access to major roads.
Before joining CBRE, Patti and Joe AmecAngelo represented AAMCO at their previous firm and arranged more than 50 transactions across the country for the automotive repair giant, according to a news release. AAMCO retained the team once again after a three-year hiatus.
“We are excited to renew our relationship with CBRE as we accelerate growth in targeted U.S. markets,” said Brian O’Donnell, chief strategy officer for AAMCO Transmissions and Total Car Care. “AAMCO centers specialize in diagnostics and complex repairs which creates increasing interest for AAMCO franchises in the current climate of ever-increasing vehicle complexity.”
