Atkins Cos. and Woodmont Properties have signed three leases at a new 10,000-square-foot standalone retail building at their Washington Square Town Center project.
PetCheck Urgent Care has signed on to occupy 2,600 square feet, Strive Physical Therapy and Sports Rehabilitation will occupy 2,100 square feet and Vivian’s Nails N’ Spa is taking 1,500 square feet at 253 Hurffville-Cross Keys Road in Washington Township. Joe Raniszewski of MSC Retail in Philadelphia represented Atkins and Woodmont in the three transactions.
Washington Square Town Center will include 30,000 square feet of retail spread across three 10,000-square-foot standalone buildings, the developers said. The retail component is part of a mixed-use community that also calls for 330 apartments, 100 townhomes, an assisted living facility and a 40,000-square-foot, fully leased medical office building anchored by Rothman Orthopaedic Institute.
Scheduled to open in the next two months, PetCheck, an animal urgent care facility, and Strive Physical Therapy and Sports Rehabilitation, a South Jersey-based physical therapy company, will become Washington Square Town Center’s first retail tenants.
“We recognized early on in our planning for Washington Square Town Center that attracting unique and in-demand retail operators would be vital in building a vibrant mixed-use community,” said Bob Atkins, managing partner of Atkins Cos. “Building off the successful leasing at our Rothman Medical Building, these first three retail leases highlight the early success of our leasing strategy at the property and we look forward to announcing a wide range of additional retail tenants over the next several months.”
With several additional leases expected to be signed shortly, the developers have broken ground for Washington Town Square Center’s second 10,000-square-foot retail building. The joint venture has retained Rotwein+Blake as its architect for the retail space.
Construction continues at the project’s residential rental component, Woodmont Townsquare, which is more than 75 percent leased, the developers said. The complex features one and two-bedroom luxury apartments, with amenities including a clubhouse with resident lounge, fireplace and game room, swimming pool with sundeck and others.
