A restaurant service business has leased more than 27,000 square feet of industrial space in Kearny, in a transaction by brokers with Avison Young.
According to the leasing team, Restaurant Technologies will use the space at 590 Belleville Turnpike as a regional depot to service the northern New Jersey and the New York metro areas. The Mendota Heights, Minnesota-based tenant, which provides cooking oil management and back-of-house cleaning solutions, will occupy 27,381 square feet at what’s known as Ridge Crossing Industrial Park.
“Through the combined efforts of the Avison Young Minnesota office’s longstanding relationship with Restaurant Technologies and our New Jersey office’s deep understanding of the local industrial market, we were able to find a great long-term relocation option for the company in northern New Jersey that seamlessly aligned with their expansion requirements,” AY’s Timothy Cadigan said. “Restaurant Technologies’ new lease underscores the current flight to quality trend in the market, with the company relocating from a Class C to Class A property.”
Cadigan and Matthew Turse, both senior vice presidents with the firm, inked the deal alongside Associate Grant Otto and the Minneapolis-based team of Principal Mark Evenson and Vice President Chas Simcox. They represented the tenant, while Steve Elman of Cushman & Wakefield represented the landlord, Ridge Crossing 6-2 Urban Renewal LLC.
In announcing the deal, AY noted that Restaurant Technologies has more than 20 years of experience in providing advanced kitchen automation services to over 27,000 national quick- and full-service restaurant chains, independent restaurants, grocery delis, hotels, casinos, convenience stores, universities and hospitals. With more than 40 depots across the country, the company helps foodservice operators make their kitchens safer, smarter, more efficient and sustainable through its automated oil storage, handling, filtration monitoring and disposal management systems as well as its automated exhaust cleaning solutions.
