A global auto exporter has leased an industrial outdoor storage parcel in the heart of Newark’s port district, in a transaction arranged by The Blau & Berg Co.
In a news release, the leasing team said the property at 87 Doremus Ave. spans roughly 5.5 acres with an 11,200-square-foot building. Caucasus Auto Import is leasing the site, the brokers said, touting its location less than a mile from Route 1&9 and its quick access to the Lincoln Tunnel and the New Jersey Turnpike.
Blau & Berg’s Jason Crimmins, Alessandro (Alex) Conte and Peter Murano represented the landlord. Senior Associate Troy Schaasfma represented the tenant, a 20-year-old, Georgia-based company that has exported more than 800,000 cars from the United States to Europe and Asia.
“Continued demand for industrial outdoor storage has made parcels such as this one at 87 Doremus valuable contributors to this growing asset class as an extension of industrial hubs, especially in and around the port region,” said Crimmins, Blau & Berg’s president. “There are a limited number of prime locations available to meet the logistics needs of those looking to operate in this space, so we were especially pleased we could arrange this lease between the landlord and Caucasus through our in-house relationships.”
