Restaurant chain Bojangles has opened along a major commercial corridor in Piscataway as part of a previously announced deal brokered by The Goldstein Group.
According to a news release, the eatery occupies 1.23 acres at 1000 Stelton Road and offers a menu led by its signature southern chicken, buttermilk biscuits and tea. It opens alongside nearby retailers and restaurants such as ShopRite, Target, Walmart, Lowe’s, Burlington, Wendy’s, Starbucks, Five Guys and others, bringing new life to the former site of an Exxon station.
The Goldstein Group Executive Vice President Lew Finkelstein, Vice President CJ Huter and Director Chris Conway brokered the transaction.
“Bojangles is a new restaurant to the New Jersey market,” said Neil Goldstein, principal of The Goldstein Group. “There are many chicken concept restaurants seeking sites in New Jersey and throughout the country. This will be one of the first Bojangles locations in (northern and central) New Jersey.”
The store is now among some 800 locations in 17 states for the eatery, which was founded in 1977 in Charlotte, North Carolina. It received fame in 1989 when its restaurants remained open as Hurricane Hugo struck the Carolinas, when most other fast-food restaurants had closed.
