A new coffee and waffles eatery has opened its doors at the Jersey Shore, where it’s leasing space at a property owned by Walters.
The operator, Pressed, occupies a street-level unit at 28 Third Ave. in the Ortley Beach section of Toms River, according to a news release. It’s now open as Walters nears completion of a model home and office at the roughly 3,250-square-foot ocean-block building.
“My partner and I were searching for a new concept that is fun and easy to grow,” said Ryan Daly, who co-owns the business with Robert Ciliento. “We came up with this idea of a new-age coffee shop that also offers different waffle flavors.”
The Toms River-based business partners are experienced franchise owners, operating five Playa Bowls shops in Ocean County, the news release said.
“We’re very familiar with doing business at the Jersey Shore and are confident it’s the perfect spot for Pressed,” Daly said. “We’re excited to welcome everyone to our new restaurant just in time for the summer season.”
In addition to customized Belgian waffles, the Pressed menu highlights ice cream options and paninis, the news release said. A small indoor and outdoor seating area is available.
“This is a great spot for a food concept like Pressed,” said Ed Walters Jr., Walters’ founder and president. “We’re looking forward to watching Ryan’s and Robert’s success in the neighborhood and are pleased to have this new shop as a built-in ‘amenity’ for our own team and clients visiting our Ortley Beach model home and office.”
