The owner of a Piscataway office building has retained Cushman & Wakefield as its leasing agent, as it prepares to launch a series of renovations at the newly acquired property.
Brokers with the firm are now marketing blocks as large as 100,000 square feet at the property, which is located at 1551 South Washington Ave. Now known as Plaza 1551, the four-story complex comprises nearly 200,000 square feet of office space just off Interstate 287.
C&W’s William O’Keefe, Charles Parmelli and Kelsey Nakamura, who are based in the firm’s Morristown office, are heading the assignment on behalf of 1551 Plaza Partners LLC, or Norden Realty Investments. The investor acquired the building this past summer.
“This well-established, locally based landlord has set out to make Plaza 1551 the preferred location for office tenants in the Piscataway market,” O’Keefe said. “Its plans include renovations in common areas and tenant spaces, along with an aggressive marketing effort aimed at filling the building with businesses looking to establish or grow in the region.”
C&W is marketing spaces ranging from 7,000 to 100,000 square feet, the firm said in a news release, noting that the landlord is also offering branding opportunities such as building façade signage with visibility from I-287. Existing features include a cafeteria, courtyard seating and on-site property management.
