An IT services firm is expanding in South Hackensack, where’s it’s leasing more than 27,000 square feet of industrial space at a building just north of Interstate 280.
The company, Guardian Data Destruction Inc., will occupy 27,177 square feet at 30 Wesley St. as part of a transaction with CPT NJ 30 Wesley LLC. Brokers with NAI James E. Hanson represented the landlord, noting the tenant’s space is three times larger than its existing footprint in the borough.
“Although South Hackensack is among Bergen County’s smallest municipalities, its wide range of industrial buildings and proximity to New York City make it stand out as a premier industrial destination in the region,” said NAI Hanson’s Scott Perkins, who completed the deal alongside Andrew Somple, Chris Todd, Greg James and Justin Allessio. “Our team’s deep experience in the Bergen County marketplace provides us with unparalleled insights into every town, city, and borough in the county that we can leverage on behalf of all of our clients looking for space in the market, whether they are a landlord hoping to attract a premier tenant or a tenant hoping to find a new home for their business.”
The brokers noted that Guardian Data Destruction is an on-site, single-source solution for data center decommissioning, data destruction and logistics. With the largest fleet of mobile IT labs in the U.S. and Department of Defense-level certified erasure equipment, the company eliminates the risk of data breaches that could arise during transport of hard drives and computer equipment by bringing its fleet of trucks directly to facilities to erase or destroy media on-site.
Its services include electronic data shredding, degaussing, destruction, erasure and security needs. The company’s new home, part of a 246,000-square-foot complex, offers 14- to 20-foot ceiling heights, two tailgates and one drive-in, while providing a location that will allow it to service clients throughout the tristate area.
“Locating and securing the perfect property became an easy and seamless process with the assistance of our broker Andrew Somple,” said Glenn Laga, president and founder of Guardian Data Destruction. “Working with NAI, we found a bigger and centrally located office and warehouse space that offered a custom buildout. And negotiating the lease was not a battle. NAI was a pleasure to work with and instrumental in supporting the future growth of Guardian Data Destruction and our global Fortune 500 market.”
