A development team has unveiled a series of new amenities for residents at a multiphase, 225-unit luxury apartment complex in downtown Rahway.
The firms, Fields Grade and The Slokker Group, launched leasing last month at the second and final piece of what’s known as The Mint, at 84 Monroe St. The joint venture now hopes to lure additional renters with fresh offerings such as a sixth-floor sky lounge and an adjacent outdoor rooftop terrace with lounge chairs, grilling stations and views of New York City.
The spaces join the existing amenities in the second building of The Mint, such as a game room with poker, ping pong and foosball tables and work-from-home areas including co-working spaces, a conference room, work pods and a library, according to a news release. They also complement the offerings in the first building, which include a lounge with a billiards table and work cubes, a fully equipped fitness center with a yoga room and FitnessOnDemand and a pet spa, along with a second-floor landscaped deck with a swimming pool and seating.
“We seized the opportunity to provide modern amenities that fulfill all the wants of today’s contemporary renter,” said Robert Giannone, director of development for Fields Grade. “Phase two has a market-driven design that allows residents to enjoy a complete lifestyle highlighted by sought after amenities inside and out. It’s a truly immersive living experience where renters feel a heightened sense of community and belonging.”
The newest phase at The Mint has a mix of 109 studios, one- and two-bedroom homes, providing residents with a commuter-friendly location that is a short walk from NJ Transit’s Rahway station. Minno & Wasko Architects and Planners designed the project, while collaborating on the interiors with Factioned.
Fields Grade and Slokker are working alongside The Marketing Directors, which leased up the project’s 116-unit first phase in 2020, to rent the second building. Monthly rates start from $2,075 and are being offered with grand opening incentives that include up to two months free.
“When we first introduced The Mint, we were excited to provide an elevated rental lifestyle in downtown Rahway which had been growing in appeal thanks to its walkable setting and influx of new restaurants, shops and theaters enhancing its suburban surroundings,” said Nils Berten, U.S. vice president of Slokker International. “The first phase immediately became the signature rental building in this transit-friendly neighborhood, and we’re delighted to build on that experience with a new collection of residences and amenities.”
The Mint also has private garage parking with electric charging stations and supportive retail space, the developers said. At the nearby train station, renters have access to both the Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast lines, while they are steps from downtown Rahway’s arts, dining, shopping and nightlife offerings.
“These open and bright floorplans are a welcoming respite for residents returning home from work or the busy social scene in downtown Rahway,” said Jacqueline Urgo, president of The Marketing Directors. “Designer finishes can be found throughout the homes, creating an upscale-but-comfortable living environment.”
