Private equity firm DXD Capital has opened a new 603-unit self-storage facility in Egg Harbor Township, the latest addition to its fast-growing portfolio in the asset class.
Located at 6679 Black Horse Pike, the building spans 76,700 net rentable square feet and offers climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled units, according to a news release. Additional options include multistory and drive-up accessible units.
Extra Space is managing the facility, the news release said. Storage Construction served as the general contractor, with Century Bank as the construction lender following DXD’s acquisition of the site in November 2022.
The developer added that, to date, it has invested in 19 self-storage developments and one seven-facility portfolio acquisition across the United States.
“This development was so special for the DXD team. It marked Rod Lockard’s 100th self-storage construction project in his career,” said Drew Dolan, DXD principal and fund manager, referring to the firm’s managing director of construction. “We are incredibly grateful to have Rod on our construction team. His knowledge about self-storage construction is second to none.”
