A developer has unveiled 151 age-restricted apartments at a mixed-use project in Barnegat, where it has also begun to welcome new retailers.
In a news release, Extell Development Co. announced that is has launched residential leasing at the project known as Barnegat 67. Sitting on more than 13 acres, the ground-up development will feature rental units for residents over age 55, along with indoor and outdoor rooftop amenities, fitness and health care services and several dining options.
“We are pleased to be delivering on a dream that this town has had for over a decade,” Moshe Botnick, assistant vice president of development at Extell, said during a ceremony to mark the launch of leasing and the opening of a Dollar Tree in the Barnegat 67 plaza. “With our first retail tenant now open for business, and the remainder of Phase I retail tenants taking possession of their spaces, this will be a vibrant shopping plaza by the end of this year.”
Located off the newly developed Garden State Parkway Exit 67, the four-story complex includes one- and two-bedroom units with high-end finishes and appliances. Apartments on the higher floors offer views of the New Jersey Pinelands, the New York-based developer said, while residents have access to private parking and multiple entrance lobbies.
Extell said it has assembled its retail tenants to offer a mix of health care, fitness, dining and other conveniences.
Barnegat 67 will also have 20,000 square feet of programmed indoor-outdoor rooftop amenities, the firm said. An indoor club and lounge is outfitted with a bar, billiard tables and multiple card tables for gaming and entertainment, while residents will also have access to rooftop cabanas with grilling stations, an outdoor dog run, a screening area and a rooftop games.
The center will also feature a 10,000-square-foot public plaza equipped with an amphitheater and shaded seating for dining.
