A new 252-unit apartment building in Bayonne is approaching full occupancy, in another sign of strength for the fast-growing residential district along the city’s waterfront.
Development firm Accurate announced this week that the property, located at 155 Goldsborough Drive, is more than 90 percent leased after hitting the market in late 2022. The luxury property is drawing renters thanks in part to its upscale homes and amenities and what experts say is an attractive price point relative to neighboring Jersey City, Manhattan and Brooklyn.
Net-effective monthly rental rates start from the $2,200s for one-bedroom units and the $3,300s for two-bedroom homes, including incentives.
“If you enjoy a quieter scene that is still close to everything, Bayonne is the place to be,” said Lavar Greene, a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Realty who has helped three clients lease an apartment at Citizen Bayonne. “The clients I worked with asked me specifically about Bayonne right from the beginning. They knew that was where they wanted to live, so word is definitely spreading.”
Designed by Devereaux & Associates, with interiors by HH Designers and landscape design by Melillo Bauer Carman, the property is the first of two five-story buildings that will make up Citizen Bayonne. Residents benefit from its waterfront location and the option to walk to a growing list of shops, markets and mass-transit options.
Amenities include a high-end fitness center, a resident lounge, coworking space, a smart package room and covered parking with electric car charging stations, according to a news release. It also has outdoor offerings such as a landscaped courtyard with dining areas, grilling stations, lounge seating, firepits and foosball tables.
Ownership, meantime, runs a complimentary resident shuttle to the Grove Street PATH station in Jersey City and to the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail’s 34th Street station, where commuter bus service is also available. Additionally, residents are a short drive from the entrance of the New Jersey Turnpike, Interstate 78 and The Holland Tunnel.
