A hair salon has opened its doors at the base of a two-building, 900-unit luxury apartment property in downtown Jersey City after relocating from another site in Hudson County.
The operator, G&C Hair Salon, is taking 900 square feet at 33 Park View Ave. under a lease with Fisher Development Associates. It joins the retail mix at what’s known as the Vantage Collection, which has opened in two phases in the city’s Liberty Harbor North section.
“At G&C Hair Studio, we pay close attention to ways we can improve the client experience and work to ensure our services meet their needs and provide great customer satisfaction,” said Hongxia Guo, the owner of the five-year-old business. “To accomplish this, we are very cognizant of the newest styles and market conditions. We’ve been seeing more young customers from Jersey City. In fact, several of our clients live at the Vantage Collection.
“That played a significant role in our decision to relocate to Jersey City. We wanted a larger studio space with high ceilings in a new building that provided access to transportation. While we looked other spaces, the Vantage Collection was the perfect opportunity. The design of the buildings is stylish and contemporary and its culture was geared towards our target demographic.”
Fisher opened phases one and two of the Vantage Collection in 2017 and 2021, delivering a pair of gleaming 45-story high-rises with more than 75,000 square feet of amenity space and 11,300 square feet of ground-floor retail space. G&C Hair Salon joins Park View Academy, a daycare center that opened in 2019 inside roughly 4,600 square feet at the property.
Previously in Hoboken, G&C will offer services that include haircuts, coloring and extensions.
