Halpern Real Estate Ventures has revealed the full selection of amenities at its high-profile Birch House development in Jersey City’s West Side neighborhood.
According to the firm, which opened the 337-unit property early this year, those spaces include a 20,000-square-foot garden courtyard and a 22,000-square-foot rooftop with lounge seating, sunbathing loungers, a bar and a screening area. The property at 49 Fisk St. also has a community garden, a mist system, a dog run and grilling and dining areas with 360-degree views of the Hackensack waterfront district, downtown Jersey City and Manhattan.
HREV highlighted those amenities and others late last month, noting that its indoor and outdoor common spaces total 50,000 square feet with an emphasis on sustainability.
“Birch House is in full bloom during the summer months with residents immersing themselves in our thoughtful amenity package and generating a lively and vibrant environment throughout the property,” said Joel Halpern, president and managing director of investments for Halpern.

Designed by Minno & Wasko Architects and Planners, with JRM Construction Management as its general contractor, the six-story building has indoor amenities such as private and community coworking spaces for flexible work-from-home opportunities with Zoom booths, private offices, individual seating options and conference tables. It also has a speakeasy-style bar, a modern fitness center with a yoga studio and Pilates room, a resident’s party room and a full-size kitchen, among others.
Halpern recently unveiled another sustainability feature at the building, a 154-kilowatt rooftop solar array consisting of more than 300 panels, which offsets 30 percent of energy consumption and primarily powers its communal spaces. SolarKal and Evergreen Energy developed the system.
“Birch House embodies visionary living, seamlessly blending design with sustainability on Jersey City’s West Side,” said David J. Maundrell, executive vice president for Corcoran Group Marketing and Corcoran New Development, the property’s marketing and leasing agent. “With its distinctive aesthetics, significant open space and green features, Birch House has resonated with those seeking a modern, mindful lifestyle.”
